[Story]: Back in 1960, one baby boy was born somewhere in Seattle, WA. He was left behind in front of suburban church, sleeping in a basket without even a note of his name or any message from his mommy.
Then there comes a man named Johnny Bark, who was coming to the church with a suicide attempt. He found this baby crying so loud and got himself back all of a sudden. Johnny thought the baby must be an angel sent by God to stop him from killing himself. He took the baby home and told his wife Linda into bringing up the baby together as their son. She was fully agreeable to it since she was dying for her own baby for quite a long time. The couple decided to keep the baby.
They named the baby "Carlos". Johnny got a job as a delivering man and worked his finger to the bone day after day, night after night. Linda supported him very well. Three of them still lived poor but somehow managed to make both ends meet and lived happily as a family. It seemed that it would go on forever.
One day Johnny was driving his truck as usual and spotted at one fabulous looking car with windows broken which is pulled over the side lane. He came over to the car and looked inside, where he saw a driver shut by the bullet in his head and another man into his chest. The driver was already dead but Johnny could hear the other man still weakly breathing. Johnny instantly called the ambulance and the police.
A few days later the man saved his life after a long surgery. His name was Peter Gabban, a top leader of the mafia group based in Seattle area. He was nearly shut to death by the gang of his rival group.
A few months later he got out of the hospital and invited Johnny to his office. Johnny was all frightened, knowing that Gabban is involved in the mafia group, but finally decided to meet him. Gabban said he wanted to thank Johnny and asked him to work in his group by offering an important post for him. To Johnny, it sounded like a once in a lifetime opportunity to get out of poverty. He talked Linda into letting him go forward and take this chance, but she firmly said no.
However, in spite of her disagreement, he just decided to throw himself into Gabban's group after all.
Johnny was very prominent and quickly climbed up the ladder to become Gabban's right-handed man. His struggling days with poverty is an ancient history now. Linda also gradually started giving in and letting him do whatever he chose to do. That is mostly because Gabban and his group always respected a policy of never committing vicious crimes and keeping a distance from ordinary citizens.
Soon after the World War 2, Gabban, who was then working in the US military, was ordered by the US Government Headquarters to station for a short period of time in Japan. During his days in Japan, he met one Japanese guy named "Tohyama", who was leading a large Japanese mafia (Yakuza), which occupied the black market. Tohyama always stood for the weak people, which was the one thing of him that appealed to Gabban and taught him a great lesson of what "JINGI" really meant for Japanese gangs and how important it should be respected in this country.
After he came back to the US, he developed his own group and always sticked to his lifetime principle "JINGI". Often it caused the conflict between him and other groups that turned against him. Gabban is a type of guy who hates bloody fight or conflicts since he believes that revenge always brings back another revenge.
Johnny came to look up to Gabban and he himself also started to show much respect to "JINGI".

[Keith Ridge] : One of leading members of Johnny's mafia group.

[Ralph Gordon] : A leading man of Johnny's rival mafia group.
[Story]: As few years have passed, Johnny became wealthy enough to buy his family a big house in suburban Seattle, where three of them lived peacefully. One day Gabban told Johnny that he wanted to retire and wanted Johnny to take over his leading post. Johnny said yes since he felt so honored to be chosen and wanted to live up to his expectation. Hearing his strong answer, Gabban was more convinced than ever that he had made a right decision and thought it was going to be the best choice for Johnny.
All through years Gabban and Johnny relied on each other through everything and even awed each other's lives. By then the two men were able to communicate without saying a word. Their relationship itself is exactly what JINGI stands for.
After Gabban retired, he and his family would leave Seattle and move up to Canada. On the day he leaves, Johnny came to the airport to see him off. When they were alone in a waiting room, Johnny promised Gabban that he would spend his lifetime succeeding what he had learned from Gabban and that he would dedicate his whole life to protect his group no matter what hardship he would face in future. Gabban couldn't stop his tears falling.
And at the next minute, a gun shot broke the silence!! A bullet took Gabban's life away instantly and permanently. Johnny broke down and cried ...he would regret for the rest of his life not to be able to save Gabban's life for second time.
After Gabban's funeral, some members of the group insisted on paying back for his death. However Johnny, who was always respecting Gabban's anti revenge theory, kept avoiding conflict. Johnny was very exhausted because his anger and pain were so overwhelming that hurt him too much to even sleep at night.
After months of persuasion from his followers, Johnny finally decided to meet Ralph Gordon, a leader guy of his rival group, who killed Gabban. Johnny suggested him to be reconciled by offering to give up half of his territory. Over the next few years Gordon' group rapidly became larger in the local area and even superior to Johnny's while he sit back and kept silence.
It seemed to everyone that Johnny and his group decayed over years and it was almost right. The group must have broken up into pieces years before if it had not been for his son Carlos and Keith Ridge, one of leading members, who both tried very hard to put the group back together.
One day Johnny recommended Carlos to go to Japan and train there physically and spiritually. Carlos could not answer immediately because he could not even imagine leaving his father alone and the group in time of difficulty.
However Johnny talked to Carlos over and over that Gabbn's spirit is still alive is his mind and that he strongly wishes his son could learn its roots in Japan. Johnny promised Carlos that his group would never fall apart while Johnny is away. It made Carlos finally change his mind. He decided to go to Japan to grow up to be strong enough to protect his beloved father, who always had faith in him and raised him like a real son. Keith also promised Carlos to do his best of ability to keep the group uptight.
Carlos would stay at Tohyama, who had been close friend of Gabban's for many years. He said goodbye to his father and mother and left Seattle, the only place he had known for his whole life.
