But when things go wrong and one of their own is viciously killed, the Expendables are compelled to seek revenge in hostile territory where the odds are stacked against them. Hell-bent on payback, the crew cuts a swath of destruction through opposing forces, wreaking havoc and shutting down an unexpected threat in the nick of time -- six pounds of weapons-grade plutonium; enough to change the balance of power in the world. But that's nothing compared to the justice they serve against the villainous adversary who savagely murdered their brother. That is done the Expendables way....

 September 14, 2011

According to EW.com. When The Expendables hit theaters last summer, it seemed like virtually every action star of a certain age dropped by to flex their biceps and kick some keister. But apparently writer-director-star Sylvester Stallone still thinks there's room for more macho men in the upcoming sequel. In a recent interview with EW, Stallone said that not only would Bruce Willis and Arnold Schwarzenegger have meatier parts the second go-round, but that he's also added Chuck Norris and Jean-Claude Van Damme to the mix and, fingers crossed, we may even see Nicolas Cage and John Travolta getting in on the mayhem, too.

Prior to the first Expendables, we reported that Stallone had been rebuffed by Van Damme when he offered him a part in the all-star cast, which included Jason Statham, Mickey Rourke, Dolph Lundgren, and a who's who of other hulking he-men. But now the Muscles From Brussels is saddling up. "We'll have a big showdown between me and Van Damme, which has been anticipated for a long time, so it should be a good one," says Stallone, who heads to Bulgaria at the end of this month to start shooting. The movie is aiming for an Aug. 2012 release.

This time out, Stallone is only working in front of the camera. Directing duties will be handled by Con Air's Simon West. Which, come to think of it, may have had something do with luring another new Expendable: Nic Cage. "We've got Chuck Norris and I think Nic Cage," says Stallone. "We're trying to work out different scenarios. I like using people that had a moment and then maybe have fallen on some hard times and give them another shot. So we're always looking for actors like Michael Biehn and Michael Pare. I like those kinds of guys. Someone did it for me and I like to see if I can do it for them. We also need some new blood in there, a Navy Seal-type, because with the Expendables none of them have 20-20 vision anymore. They need some help, man."

As for reports that Travolta may also join the expandable Expendables cast, Stallone says, "It's possible. The one thing I've learned is what is a fact on Monday is a complete fallacy on Tuesday. A lot of it is scheduling. It's not financial. It's just that Bulgaria is definitely a jaunt. It's a commitment, you know what I mean? Especially in the dead of winter."

According to Comicbookmovie.com.

Millennium Films has released an official list of all actors seemingly confirmed to appear in Simon West's "The Expendables 2".

Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Bruce Willis, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jean-Claude Van Damme, Mickey Rourke, Dolph Lundgren, Jet Li, Terry Crews, Randy Couture, Chuck Norris and Scott Adkins. According to the official website of studio Millennium Films, these are the actors confirmed to appear in "The Expendables 2", a sequel to 2010's Box-Office hit that reunited the greatest action stars of the 80's and 90's, directed by Simon West ("Con Air"), replacing Stallone, who decided to keep only actor duties in the follow-up.

The movie will be shot in Bulgaria and China, and, According to Bulgarian studio Nu Boyana, that is also producing, will follow the Expendables confronting another team of mercenaries, led by Van Damme's character. Adkins will be one of his men. Norris will have a cameo, similar to Willis' and Schwarzenegger's in the first movie, whereas the two actors - especially Willis, who plays the corrupt CIA operative Mr. Church - will have bigger roles. Li, who apparently did not want to return to the role of Expendable Yin Yang, will only participate of the China filming, while most of the cast will also appear in Bulgaria.

Schwarzenegger's co-star on James Cameron's "True Lies", Tom Arnold, has also apparently received an offer to appear in the movie. Other actor from the original movie expected to return is Steve Austin, who played the hitman Don Paine, who died in the original movie. According to rumors, he'd play Paine's twin brother who wants revenge against Stallone's character.

Other actors rumored to be be contenders for roles in the movie are Donnie Yen, Nicolas Cage, Christopher Lambert, Christian Slate, John Travolta, Tom Sizemore, Hulk Hogan, Mr. T, Carl Weathers, Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson, Charlie Sheen, Lorenzo Lamas, Jeff Speakman, Olivier Gruner, Ryan Seacrest and Taylor Lautner. Actress Tamara Ecclestone has also been linked to the part, possibly in the role of Mickey Rourke's character's daughter, named Fiona.

According to Stallone, the movie will be "a love letter to martial arts movies" and explore more the other members of the team. He also confirmed a fight scene between Lundgren and Van Damme.

"The Expendables 2" will be released on August 17, 2012.

According to novinite.com "NU Boyana CEO David Varod: Bulgaria Can Become Europe's No 1 Filming Destination."

A star-packed movie featuring Bruce Willlis, Sylvester Stallone, Jet Li, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Mickey Rourke, Jason Statham, John Travolta, Chuck Norris and Jean Claude Van Damme among others is to be shot in Bulgaria, Bulgaria-based NU Boyana studios CEO David Varod has confirmed. He talks about the much-anticipated sequel to "The Expendables", as well as other exciting prospects, in an exclusive interview for Novinite.com (Sofia News Agency).

Some very big names have been mentioned recently as very likely to shoot in Bulgaria soon, the likes of Bruce Willis and Silvester Stallone. Is there any development on that?

Yes, we are definitely going to do that project. It is going to be a sequel the "The Expendables". The shooting is going to take place the second week of September. The movie is on, definitely. It will be a very good thing for Bulgaria, since there are some very big stars coming.

Would you disclose some of the names coming for sure?

Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, John Travolta, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Chuck Norris, Jean-Claude Van Damme, Dolph Lundgren, Mickey Rourke...who else? Of course, Bruce Willis. The director is Simon West, who is also a name. He is already here and has started working on the film. I believe the sequel will be better than the first movie.

There was another possible project involving Ben Affleck and George Clooney recently linked to NU Boyana.

It was not a project, it was a possibility. Ben Affleck came here and checked out probable locations. The story is taking place in Iran and it looks like it's shooting is going to take place in Istanbul, which I would not call exactly a mistake, but I would like to point out that I have worked as a movie designer for 25 years, I have done projects involving Iran and I know Iran.

Istanbul and Tehran do not match at all. Funny enough, it is much easier to match Tehran to Sofia. But the director sees the story a bit more romantic - Istanbul does have a special look, but it has nothing to do with Iran. From my point of view, it is economically more expensive to shoot there, as well as more problematic considering the subject of the story, but everyone makes their own choices.

So, they have definitely decided to shoot there?

Well, let's see if they do it. It is a long way from being ready. People are coming and going the whole time, checking locations.

You have been saying that Bulgaria's government needs to create more incentives for filmmaking in the country. Would you elaborate on that?

Nowadays, everybody in the world is trying to attract the film industry, there are economic reasons for that. Besides that, money means jobs. And I believe that the most important thing is publicity. It is very important for the country's image abroad.

Currently, you have incentives for the film industry in the US, you have them in Canada, you have them all over Europe. The competition is huge - the Czech Republic, Hungary, Germany, France, Belgium, the UK - not only the bigger countries but also the smaller ones are competing, including Serbia, Macedonia, Malta, Cyprus. If we do not create more incentives, we would look unattractive.

But I have had a very productive meeting with government officials and I believe the market will change very dramatically this year.

You said the competition is huge - what advantages does Bulgaria have, and NU Boyana in particular, which would help in that situation?

You know, not only Bulgaria is pretty, its neighboring countries are pretty, too. The Balkans offer very beautiful filming locations - and the countries are quite similar. But people do not come only because of the scenery, they are looking for high-quality professionalism. And the one thing we have managed to do in the course of the last couple of years is dramatically raising our staff's level of professionalism to very, very high standards, internationally. People know they are going to get the best when they choose Bulgaria.

Of course, we need to be attractive from an economic point of view, too. That is why we need to create more economic incentives. I have said that many years ago and I will repeat it - Bulgaria can be number one in Europe.

Bulgaria's filmmaking has been on the rise recently, with several movies receiving prestigious awards at international festivals. How do you see NU Boyana's role in supporting Bulgaria's movie industry?

NU Boyana is supporting it much more than the government does. The government does support Bulgaria's filmmakers, but the support has been very insufficient economic wise. Students used to pay for the projects they were doing here - with us, they do not pay. We are supporting Bulgarian movies big time. NU Boyana is not making any profit from Bulgarian movies - but I see this support as very important, since I am a part of this industry. After having spent twelve years in Bulgaria, I am not an outsider. I am not just a foreigner working here; Boyana is a Bulgarian company.

According to brandchannel.com/

Era is one of the lower-profile brands in the stable of laundry produced and marketed by Procter & Gamble, arguably the world's most prolific brand factory and marketer. On the value scale, Era is the lowest-price major detergent brand, often competing with private label store brands instead of with its siblings in P&G's Cheer, Gain and Tide brands.

But Era is no less important from a marketing perspective; in fact, P&G cut the brand's price more than a year ago to take advantage of value-hungry consumers who were trading down to less expensive detergents because of the weakened economy. Now, P&G has upped the Era ante with an ad campaign that, at first glance, seems to combine the detergent with an unlikely spokesperson ? Chuck Norris.

Sports running on TV and YouTube, and supported by Facebook and Twitter, make the claim that Era is "CHUCK NORRIS APPROVED." The product is shown with what appears to be a stamp of approval, bearing an illustrated likeness of Norris.

Norris, of course, is the legendary tough guy and star of the Walker, Texas Ranger TV series, as well as such movies as The Delta Force, Firewalker, and The Hitman.

Why choose a tough guy like Norris to pitch a pedestrian brand like a laundry detergent? Kim Koster, SVP at Leo Burnett Toronto, the agency that came up with the campaign, told the New York Times that research indicated "our target consumer has a lot of affinity" for Norris. That consumer, for the most part a woman 25 to 54 years old, says Koster, is "fighting to get the job done on a budget." Hence the campaign's theme, "A lot of fight for a little dough.

The commercials themselves play on the Norris image but in a humorous way, inflating the kinds of things Era can do to match the often exaggerated claims about Norris himself. One 15-second ad, for example, shows a Chinese man holding a tea cup that bursts, accompanied by the voiceover: "Era detergent once head-butted a tea stain so hard... a cup of tea on the other side of the world felt it. Era. So much fight it's Chuck Norris Approved."

The campaign is a departure from Era's more pragmatic "tough on stains, easy on your wallet" positioning, but Tara Murphy, Era's brand manager, tells the Times the new ads reinforce Era's core appeal to "consumers who want great stain-fighting at a great price. The Chuck Norris campaign, says Murphy brings "the no-nonsense personality of Era to life through innovative marketing, using light humor to speak to this consumer in a unique way that is unexpected for laundry."

Norris seems to favor the approach. In correspondence via Platinum Rye Entertainment, which arranged for Norris to appear in the Era ads, Norris wrote, "This is the right opportunity for me and the best environment imaginable for launching my seal of approval. He added, "I don't think the humor would work if people didn't understand who I am and that I believe in the characters I portray and the values they are committed to protect."

For its part, P&G is having fun not just with Era, but with some of its other laundry detergent brands. For example, Cheer, which has relied on humor for many years, recently spoofed soap operas with its "Brighten Bay" campaign.

And as AP reports, it's just about to launch a "high-tech upgrade to its Ariel laundry detergent, in a global launch underscoring the Cincinnati-based consumer products maker's increasing focus on emerging markets." To underline the use of 3D technology in creating "micro boosters" to attack laundry stains, P&G plans to use 3D in ots marketing campaign, including "3D movie theater commercials and a 3D fashion show."

P&G is an old hand at creating compelling storylines to sell its products ? don't forget, "soap operas" were originally created by P&G as vehicles to advertise its soap and detergent products. Today, it's taking it all to new heights, and it's a whole new Era, when it comes to selling soap suds.

Who would have thought that Sylvester Stallone's "The Expendables" would be competing with the animated "Kung Fu Panda" to get action stars to sign on for their films. Stallone has already promised to get Jean Claude Van-Damme for the sequel, but Van-Damme is currently voicing a character in the upcoming "Kung Fu Panda" sequel.

Now, both "The Expendables 2" and the third "Kung Fu Panda" installment are hoping to get Chuck Norris for their films. "Bring Chuck Norris to 'Kung Fu Panda 3,'" said "Kung Fu Panda" writers Jonathan Aibel and Glenn Berger. "Chuck Norris as legendary unicorn. You have to do a mythical beast to get Chuck Norris. You can't just put him as a crane, or something. You need something with teeth, something big."

According to ABC NEWS

Mattress Mack teamed up with action movie superstar Chuck Norris to save a local martial arts program for kids.

"After seeing the news reports about the district's decision to defund the programs, I decided that something had to be done to make sure the kids didn't lose this great opportunity," Mattress Mack Jim McIngvale said. "I funded the first program back in the 90's so it feels great to be able to help these schools and I hope that the community will rally to raise the rest of the money."

McIngvale donated $150,000 to Ford Bend ISD's Kickstart Kids program. Budget problems forced the school district to get rid of the six instructors who teach martial arts to about 1,500 students.

Norris started Kickstart Kids and Mattress Mack donated money to help the program back then.

Sharia-haters, take heart! In case the state bills outlawing Sharia law popping up around the country don't prove enough to prevent the Islamic takeover of America, Chuck Norris stands ready to defend the country, promising to deliver a roundhouse kick to "radical Islamists" who would "use the freedoms in our Constitution to expand the influence of Shariah law."

Norris, in a column for WorldNetDaily titled "Holy Week, holy Shariah?," wrote that "too many Americans don't know or understand how it threatens the very fabrics of our republic. So I've decided to do a series on how Shariah is seeping into American society."

"First, let me categorically state that I'm not an Islamaphobe," wrote Norris. "I welcome the plurality of religions in America and am a firm believer in the First Amendment. But just as our religious freedom is secured in the Bill of Rights, so is our freedom of speech to share even our religious concerns."

"In the end, it seems to me we have a choice to believe that Shariah law is, or is not, a pro-Islamic system of civic, religious, moral and social laws, which is being used to run other countries and governments but is not being (nor ever will be) invoked to run ours, based upon the belief that our constitutional republic and Bill of Rights is inferior."
